Google takes a big step to protect the privacy of Android users: Learn more about the Privacy Sandbox from Google
In a statement today, Google announced the development of a new system to protect the personal data of users, Google introduced the project called Privacy Sandbox, which aims to protect the privacy of Android users. How will this system protect users? Full details here.
Privacy is one of the things we need most right now. The privacy of many people is being violated without even realizing it, due to the data collected by the smartphones, computers I use, social media, and other applications.
Previously, Apple introduced new regulations in this regard since iOS 14, but the Android interface has not taken any similar steps previously other than minor changes. But according to what Google announced today, the company will switch to a new system for the privacy of personal data of its users.
The privacy of users will be protected by the Privacy Sandbox project
Anthony Chavez, Head of Security and Privacy at Android, announced that they are working on a new project to enable Android users to protect their privacy. This system, called the Privacy Sandbox Project, will allow third-party apps and sites to collect minimal information about users and will fundamentally change the purpose of cookies.
Many apps and websites have used different cookies to collect different information from users. With the aim of blocking this system, Google has announced that it will protect the privacy of its users by developing a system that reviews and tracks cookies requested from users.
Most of the cookies used by third-party websites and applications stored important information such as users' passwords, IP addresses, and MAC information. If these cookies are hacked, users' devices may be hacked and all their personal information can be leaked to the Internet.
How does Privacy Sandbox, the new security system, work?
The Privacy Sandbox, developed by Google in 2019, stores these cookies in one place and controls the source of the cookie. After this check, the secure cookies are accepted in the sandbox. The Sandbox presents itself to cookies as if it were a real phone, thus protecting the actual operating system and device.
Thanks to the advertising ID generated in the Privacy Sandbox, users can protect their privacy by using different names and information without entering their personal information. This way, both companies collect their cookies without any issues, and you don't have to worry about their privacy.
Chavez announced that they will start testing this system with users at the end of 2022. If the tests give positive results, we can see this feature with the new Android release in the third quarter of 2023.
